Lys Valley Greeters (Flanders,Belgium)

One of the ways to explore the Lys Valley is a visit with a ‘Lys Valley Greeter’. Greeters are unpaid volunteers who enthusiastically share the love and pride they feel for their region with visitors. They take a maximum of six people through the Lys Valley and recount personal stories. They show their favourite spots, cosy pubs or restaurants, attractions, etc. Greeters differ from guides because they don’t give detailed explanations about attractions, don’t guide groups in museums and work as unpaid volunteers.

In the Lys Valley we don’t limit ourselves to walks; we also have Greeters who take small groups around by bike.
